Some people say Marijuana (pot, weed, grass) is harmless. And, yes – in many areas, you can even get medical prescriptions for it, these days. But, as you may have heard, Marijuana tends to be a transitional drug, often leading straight to more dangerous stuff, like sweat pants and Cheetos.

When I see an online profile that uses the expression “straight-acting”, my knee-jerk response is to write to the guy and ask him how “straight” he acts with another man’s tongue (or whatever) in his mouth (or wherever).

From the start, bear-identified magazines and video companies pioneered and celebrated that mentality of celebrating and sexualizing normal, everyday guys.
“He’s a star. He’s a star. And, you can be a star, too.”

Why are there, relatively speaking, so few bears of color amongst us?

The fingernail on the thumb of my right hand is painted blue. It’s a deep and solid blue – not quite as dark as indigo, but not as flashy as robin’s egg or azure. And wherever I go, people stare at it.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but the web has lately been inundated by what seems like a daily (hourly?) addition to the viral sh*t storm (pun intended) of “Sh*t People Say” videos.

Driving a car is more fun, more exciting, and more comfortable without without restrictions like speed limits, stop lights or safety belts, right?
Climbing the side of a mountain would be easier without all of that heavy gear; those ropes, safety lines and clips attached to you.
And, how great would it feel to jump out of a plane and just fly through the sky, without that clumsy parachute strapped to your back?
Pretty great, I’ll bet.
Yeah… until you splat like a big human tomato in the middle of a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Marriage isn’t perfect. You’ll fight. Your partner’s friends and/or family might not love or even like you. But if you’re together, and you truly love and commit to each other, you realize that storms will happen. You don’t throw in the towel every time lightning strikes. You sustain the blow. You rebuild the bond.
You say, “I’m sorry. I love you.” You wipe the blood off the floor, kiss each other good-night, and that’s all that matters.

Let me explain something to you.

We haul out and start unpacking the big, plastic tubs and box after box of decorations and ornaments, and we share memories about where this and that came from.
Some were bought. Some were inherited. Some were acquired during travels or special adventures. Each ornament tells a story.
This year, it was like, “Yeah, yeah. Save it for Oprah. Just give me a hook and something else to hang.”

Remember the scene in that movie, “Priscilla: Queen of the Desert” where the three drag queens are rehearsing; Mitzi is teaching Felicia and Bernadette the choreography for one of their lip-synch performances, and while improvising dance moves, he does a sort of fluttering-hand-across-the-torso gesture.

I have to admit, I’ve been to lots (and lots!) of gay-owned restaurants where, except for the hunkiness of the bartender and the flirtatious banter of the otherwise incompetent wait staff, I thought, “Gay-owned or not, this place sucks.” And I didn’t return.
